Fruits

TOPIC: Fruits

LEVEL: Very Young learners (3 and 4 years old)

NAME OF THE GAME: finding the fruit

OBJECTIVES:

à Know vocabulary related to food and fruits.

à Identify fruits by touch.

CONTENTS:

à Name of fruits as healthy food.

à Use and develop the sense of touch to recognize fruits.

MATERIALS NEEDED/ APP USED TO CREATE THE GAME:

à Plastic fruits that are life-size or not too small.

à A cloth bag, not transparent. It can be dark color such as black or navy blue.

DESCRIPTION OF THE GAME AND RULES OF THE GAME:

à We put several plastic fruits in a large cloth bag, in which the fruits cannot be guessed by their shape with the naked eye. As they are so young, we will show the fruits that we put in the bag so that they have some reference to say the fruit.

à In turns, a student will put his hand in the bag and will have to take only one fruit, they have to guess which fruit it is and then when they take it out of the bag, they will be able to check if they have succeeded. The game will get more complicated the more fruits we put in and if we add more food.

City

The first term I was working on this topic with my 6th graders.

We decided to create a small game in which each student created their favorite city building with a small model, so the class became a mini city.

Then to work on the directions, questions of places and vocabulary, each student prepared a small speech explaining their work and the characteristics of their establishment, then we made a roll play in which the students played the role of tourists lost in the city looking for the airport, hospital ...

It was a very fun activity that they enjoyed very much.

I leave you some pictures of the models.
